The greater the power of the laser marking machine, the greater the output energy, the deeper the marking depth, and the wider the adjustable marking depth. So the power selection depends entirely on the customer’s requirements. Some customers have very strict requirements on the marking depth, such as the depth must reach 0.5mm, etc. Some customers have lower requirements, as long as the marking is clear and the color meets their expectations.
There was once a customer who marked a nameplate. He liked the nameplate to be slightly yellowish, and did not have high requirements for the depth. Therefore, if the maximum depth that 20W can hit can already meet the customer’s requirements, then choose 20W, unless you consider that you may hit a deeper depth in the future.
When marking, you can use the card test method, buy a few metal cards, adjust the output power to 10, 15, 20, mark on the cards in turn, observe and touch with your hands, and choose the one with the best effect. If you can’t hit the required depth even after adjusting to the maximum, you can only buy a machine with a higher power.
